NOTICE

Mission Statement
To Enhance, Preserve and Protect Our Way of Life (Lifestyle) in Sewall's Point and Martin County
To Protect Property Values
Support and Coordinate with Groups Seeking to Resolve Witham Airport
Issues: (Safety - Growth Management - Noise - Pollution - Health) |
Immediate Goals of CCC
Moratorium on Grant Requests and Spending at Witham * see note below
Mandatory Curfew - 10pm to 8am (excluding governmental, medivac and emergency flights)
Mandatory Noise Abatement on all Flights (currently published as voluntary) |
* Note regarding Moratorium on Spending
Maintenance of existing facilities and emergency repairs excluded. |
The airport is currently being operated in a safe manner. By freezing funding/grant requests for improvements, there should be no compromise in safety. If the airport determines that any unsafe condition exists, then a request for funds and immediate repairs should be made. This moratorium request shall in no way be allowed to compromise safety! |
Moratorium to be in effect until the FAA 150 study, the FAA 161 and MPO studies are completed. |
CCC Mission Statement and Immediate Goals.
CCC will also be working with surrounding communities to form individual citizen groups. Each group will coordinate and work together to protect not only the interests of each community and our way of life in Martin County, but will work together with WAAM to facilitate mutual goals regarding the Witham Airport issue. Each community has specific concerns regarding the airport. For some it is the constant touch and go training traffic, for others it is jet traffic and for some, all air traffic at Witham. We believe that the airport properly managed, can be a good neighbor to most. Our goal is to keep Witham a Small Community General Aviation Airport.
